Classical Music

In co-operation with the Berlin Institute of Musical Arts, you can now explore the art of Classical Music with our new Bachelor's and Master's degree in Berlin. You will develop your skills on your main instrument of choice (including voice) and further study essential topics such as:

  • ensemble and chamber music
  • speech training
  • classical music theory and history
  • earn training and aesthetics

Classical Music graduates have a wide range of artistic career opportunities including working as an orchestral musician in symphony or chamber orchestras, as a soloist or chamber musician, as an opera singer or instrumentalist at opera houses and theaters and as a freelance concert artist at festivals and international concert series

World Music

With a focus on trans-traditional creative musicking, the programme fosters deep musical understanding, technical virtuosity, and expressiveness, enabling students to develop into highly professional musicians and pursue successful careers.

The programme is a new collaboration between SRH University and the Berlin Institute of Musical Arts.

Career paths include working as a professional music performer in various capacities, such as an orchestra or ensemble musician, a soloist or chamber musician, a theater or opera musician, or a session musician and touring artist.

Bachelor Programmes

Typically, you will need to provide a general higher education or university of applied sciences entrance qualification, examples of your artistic work showcasing your creativity, proof of English proficiency, a CV, and proof of identity. Requirements may vary depending on the study programme, so be sure to check the brochure you receive when you complete the form.

Master Programmes

Typically, you will need to provide a bachelor's degree in a related field, a demonstration or presentation of your creative skills, a letter of motivation, proof of English proficiency, a CV, and proof of identity. Master-level programme requirements tend to vary by study programme, so make sure to read the brochure carefully after you have filled out our form.

You can apply anytime through our application portal on our website. Once you submit your application, your documents will be carefully reviewed. You’ll be invited to a personal interview if you meet the admission requirements. After the interview, you’ll receive your letter of acceptance and your study contract. Once all formalities are completed, you’ll get your official letter of admission and be welcomed during Welcome Week to begin your studies.

Our intake periods are usually in April and October, with our biggest intake in October. Our brochure has detailed information on when your desired programme starts.

The study fees vary by programme. When you fill out our form, you will receive a brochure highlighting all the essential information concerning your chosen study programme, including the relevant fees.

With our CORE (Competence-Oriented Research and Education) principle, we have reimagined the traditional structure of higher education. What this means for you:
