Course content Fashion Design (B.A.)

Creativity, sustainability & digital innovation

In the Fashion Design (B.A.) programme, you will develop your own design identity and learn how to professionally realise fashion concepts – from the first sketch to the finished collection. The focus lies on creative practice, material and technological expertise, and a forward-looking approach to digital tools and sustainable design.

At the beginning of your studies, you will acquire fundamental creative and craft skills, working with design methods, theory of form, and material science. At the same time, you will gain practical experience in studios and digital labs, learning tools such as CLO3D and AI-supported design processes.

As your studies progress, you will deepen your knowledge in five core areas:

  • Design & Creative Practice: Understanding fashion as a form of expression, experimenting, and developing your own collections.
  • Material & Technology: Exploring innovative textiles, digital technologies, and new production methods.
  • Sustainability & Responsibility: Designing sustainably and socially responsibly throughout all project phases.
  • Fashion Business & Entrepreneurship: From idea to product – thinking economically, building brands, and testing business models.
  • Digital & Future Skills: Creating virtual fashion, AR/VR applications, and digital storytelling.

Practical projects, a compulsory internship, and the integrated Start-up Studio prepare you for the dynamic fashion industry. You will complete your studies with your Bachelor’s collection and thesis, opening up diverse career paths in fashion design – from design studios and sustainable labels to self-employment.
