Study Occupational Therapy with a double degree

Occupational Therapy focuses on human activity. During your studies, we will teach you the knowledge and skills you need to work as an occupational therapist in a client-centred and everyday-oriented manner.  

The Bachelor's degree programme in Occupational Therapy is the first of its kind in Baden-Württemberg. It comprises a double qualification, consisting of the academic degree Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and state recognition as an occupational therapist.

During your studies, you will not only acquire important knowledge in the fields of medicine, psychology and social sciences, but we will also teach you proven and new treatment methods. In addition, we will give you insights into the scientific foundations of occupational therapy. During the four practical phases and numerous work placements, you will receive comprehensive, intensive practical training with at least 1,700 hours of practical experience.

Joint modules for students of occupational therapy, physiotherapy and music therapy enable intensive, interdisciplinary exchange. This promotes understanding for later collaboration with the aim of providing optimal care for patients.

Step 2: Come to Germany and continue your German language studies on site to a B2 or C1 level at one of our partner schools.

Step 3: Start your Bachelor programme on campus. If need be, continue in parallel your German courses to a C1 level (required by the end of the first semester of studies).

Costs

Smart financing

As a state-recognised private university, SRH University is financed by tuition fees. The fees go towards equipping our campuses, providing services for our students, and ensuring quality assurance. This way, we ensure you receive the best possible education under optimal study conditions.

Tuition fees 

  • EU/EEA nationals, including Switzerland, the Western Balkans and Ukraine: €490 per month
  • Non-EU/EEA nationality: 2,940€ per semester

The monthly/semester tuition fees remain the same for the entire duration of the study programme. A one-off enrolment fee of €750 (EU/EEA) is to be paid once.

If you come from a non-EEA country without a residence permit, the enrolment fee is €1,000 – you must pay the tuition fees for one semester in advance. From the second semester onwards, payments for the remaining semesters are due six weeks before the end of the period for which you have already paid. Payments are to be made on a semester basis. . 

In addition to efficient organisation, goal-oriented studies also require a solid financial basis in order to pay rent, living expenses and tuition fees. There are various financing options available, such as education loans or scholarship programmes.

Admission requirements and application

Admission

You can apply at any time via our online portal without obligation. We will then review your application documents and invite you to the selection process.

To apply for the Bachelor's degree programme in Occupational Therapy, you will need: 

  • General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), subject-specific higher education entrance qualification (subject-specific Abitur) or technical college entrance qualification
  • or at least two years of vocational training and at least three years of professional experience plus an aptitude test
  • Successful completion of the selection process*
  • At least three weeks of work experience** in the field of occupational therapy 
  • Curriculum vitae with current passport photo
  • Copy of ID card (front and back); for foreign students, a copy of their national identity card
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Medical certificate

If you are coming from abroad, you can be admitted 

  • if you can provide us with proof of university entrance qualification in the form of certificates from your previous education and sufficient German language skills (DSH or TestDaF examination)
  • if you have also successfully completed our selection process*. 
Application process and selection interview

  2. If you fulfil the admission requirements, we will invite you to a selection interview
  3. If the interview is successful, you will receive a letter of acceptance and a study contract from us
  4. You sign the study contract and send it back to us
  5. You pay the enrolment fee
  6. We will send you your letter of admission
  7. You take part in our induction week and then you're ready to go!
