Direct entry requirements

We accept: 

• A general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) or a university of applied sciences entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife)
• For international students: an upper secondary school leaving certificate classified by anabin (the KMK's database of foreign qualifications) as granting access to higher education in Germany

In addition to holding a general higher education entrance qualification or equivalent university access, you will need to meet the GPA and subject-specific requirements of your chosen Bachelor's programme.

Direct entry via conditional enrolment

We accept a qualifying secondary school leaving certificate that grants access to a Bachelor's programme at a state-accredited university in your home country, or in the country where you obtained your secondary school degree.

Students who meet this requirement, along with the minimum GPA and subject requirements of the programme, may begin their Bachelor's studies at SRH University directly after finishing high school and proceed to demonstrate their ability to study during the first year of the programme. Conditions apply.

Entry via Foundation at SRH International College

If you hold a qualifying secondary school leaving certificate that grants university access but do not meet the GPA, subject, or language requirements for direct entry, you may complete a Foundation Year at SRH International College instead.

No separate application is required. Our admissions team will assess whether this course is necessary for your programme entry.

Submit your application through our online platform to find out whether you qualify for one of our Bachelor's programmes. Our admissions team will review your documents and let you know your eligibility, or whether further preparation is needed.

If you have not yet graduated, you can apply with your existing transcripts or latest interim certificate for conditional acceptance. Your final degree certificate and transcripts will be required before you begin your studies.

Admission Professionally qualified applicants

From 1 January 2025, until the new admission and enrolment regulations (ZulImO) take effect, the following procedure applies to professionally qualified applicants under the Baden-Württemberg State Higher Education Act (LHG), in line with Sections 58 (2) No. 5 and No. 6 LHG BW:

1. Applicants with recognised advanced vocational training (for example, master craftsman or business administrator qualifications) receive direct university admission after a counselling interview (Section 58 (2) No. 5).
2. Applicants with at least two years of relevant vocational training and three years of professional experience must pass an aptitude test for subject-specific admission (Section 58 (2) No. 6).

Until the new ordinance on the entrance exam and trial study programme is issued, the aptitude test will continue to follow the current requirements.

Details about the dual programme

Please note that you will need to have found a partner company before starting your studies - we are happy to assist you in finding one. If you are unable to find a partner company before the 1st semester, you can also always start in the full-time programme and switch to the dual programme later.

After applying and being admitted to the university, you can change to the dual programme at the beginning of each semester or, depending on your level of prior knowledge, you can already commence your studies in the dual programme. 

The partner companies select suitable candidates independently of the university and sign an employment contract (usually with 18.5 hours per week) with them. You can also suggest new partner companies for this purpose. 

We advise the partner companies to provide financial support for the students working for them. This means that either the tuition fees are paid by the company or that you receive a training salary.

English language requirements

We accept the following English proficiency certificates, valid within two years of the test date, at the scores indicated:

• SRH English Proficiency Certificate (Password Skills Plus): 6.5
• Cambridge B2 First: Grade A or B
• Cambridge Advanced (CAE): Grade A, B, or C
• Cambridge Proficiency (CPE): Grade A, B, or C
• Duolingo English Test: 110
• IELTS Academic: 6.5
• Linguaskill: 176 (all four skills required)
• Pearson English Test Academic (PTE Academic): 59 overall
• TOEIC: 785 (Listening/Reading), 160 (Speaking), 150 (Writing)

Important for visa applicants: Language certificate requirements for university admission may differ from those accepted for visa purposes. Before submitting your visa application, please check with the German embassy or consulate in your home country to confirm which English language certificates they accept, as requirements can vary by country.
