How does a career in the creative and music industry really develop – beyond theory and clichés: With Mitch Dörfler
🎤 Guest: Mitch Dörfler
Producer. Mixing engineer. Industry heavyweight.
Mitch Dörfler has been one of the defining figures in the German-speaking music and audio industry for over two decades. He’s known for his work as a producer, mixer, and engineer for major national and international artists such as Die Fantastischen Vier, DMX, Vanilla Ice, Thomas D, Herbert Grönemeyer, and many others. His productions have received multiple gold and platinum awards, as well as major honors like the ECHO and the Amadeus Award.
Beyond traditional studio work, Mitch specializes in next-generation audio technologies—especially in interactive audio and game audio. A key focus of his work is the design and implementation of interactive and generative music systems in Unreal Engine. In this context, he was invited by Epic Games as a keynote speaker to the international Epic Games Conference in New Orleans, where he spoke about building interactive and generative music systems in Unreal Engine and about new ways of thinking and technological approaches to music in real-time environments.
Mitch is also the founder and owner of TRIPBOX Sound Studios in Vienna, an internationally oriented studio for music production, mixing, and innovative audio solutions.
In addition to his studio and development work, Mitch has served as musical director for major TV productions, including well-known formats in the Stefan Raab universe and for ORF. He knows the industry from every angle—creative, technical, and business.
