Further development of CORE

Working life is constantly changing - and with it the demands employers place on university graduates. On the threshold of the working world 4.0, the so-called future skills enrich the required competences of a career starter. We are accompanying this development with the corresponding further development of the CORE principle: in line with the continuous adaptation of the learning objectives in the curricula, we are constantly expanding the range of competence-oriented examination methods and teaching methods tailored to them. The use of digital elements in teaching is an important building block here. Supporting digital and analogue learning spaces provide the ideal framework. Embedding the CORE principle in the university strategy and in our mission statement for teaching and learning guarantees our high standards.

Support with the implementation of CORE

Following the great success of the CORE principle at the SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg, we are happy to pass on the experience we have gained since 2010 in designing and implementing our study model in the form of training courses, workshops and consultations.

Our five SRH nursing schools have long recognised the added value of the CORE principle for their action-oriented training and have redesigned the curriculum to be competence-oriented and in accordance with the CORE standards. The SRH Akademie actively accompanies and supports the colleagues at our SRH nursing schools at all locations in Germany in the further implementation and networking.

Our SRH Vocational Training Centre in Neckargemünd has also discovered the CORE principle for itself. In September 2023, vocational preparation and vocational school, as well as initially 14 professions in the training area, will start with the new concept. As a pioneering management philosophy, CORE will also have an impact on a number of other areas and BBW processes in the future. Our academy has been actively accompanying and supporting the implementation and development since 2021.

Student Digital Transformation Agents

Get involved in the further development of our study model! We systematically incorporate the student perspective and innovative strength into the strategic development of the university. In their role as Senate representatives, two students work with us to conduct student surveys and workshops on selected topics relating to digitalisation in studies and teaching. In regular future workshops , we develop our vision of an ideal university of the future.

University Forum on Digitalisation

Learning from the best has always been one of our success factors. In 2019, the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung (HFD) selected us along with three other universities to take part in its peer-to-peer strategy consultation. The resulting recommendations encouraged us on our chosen path of digitalisation in teaching and were incorporated into the university strategy - so that SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg remains fit for the future.
