Course content: Industrial Biotechnology (M.Sc.)

Develop biotechnological solutions for tomorrow

A strong learning journey in biotechnology requires more than technical knowledge. This programme combines scientific depth, practical experimentation and exposure to real industry challenges. From your first semester, you move between the laboratory, digital tools and applied project work, building confidence in both experimental and computational approaches. Each semester adds new layers of expertise, connecting scientific insight with industrial application.

You will gain advanced knowledge across the full biotechnology value chain – from molecular engineering and genetic design to industrial production, regulatory frameworks and commercialisation. You will learn how to design and execute experiments, analyse complex biological data and develop scalable bioprocesses.

The programme also strengthens your competencies in regulatory affairs, quality systems (GLP/GMP) and intellectual property. With a strong focus on translational research, digital biotechnology and AI‑driven discovery, you will learn how to move from laboratory results to real‑world solutions. Through collaboration with industry and research partners, you gain insights into technology transfer, regulatory pathways and market access in fast‑evolving fields such as biopharma, synthetic biology and industrial biotechnology.

Smart financing

As a state-recognised, private university, SRH University is financed by tuition fees. This income goes towards equipping our campuses, providing services for our students and quality assurance. In this way, we ensure that you receive the best possible education under optimal study conditions.

Tuition fees

  • Nationality | EU/EEA (incl. Western Balkans, Switzerland and Ukraine): 950 € / month
  • Citizenship | non-EU/EEA: €5,750 / semester

The monthly fee remains the same for the entire period of study. The one-off enrolment fee is EUR 750.00.

If you come from a non-EEA country without a settlement permit, the enrolment fee is €1,000 - you must pay the tuition fees for one semester in advance. From the second semester onwards, payments for the remaining semesters are due six weeks before the end of the study period already paid for. Payments are to be made semester by semester.

With the exception of any placement, aptitude or equivalency tests, no separate examination fees or similar are charged, not even for repeat examinations. This gives you maximum cost transparency during your studies.

In addition to efficient organisation, a goal-oriented course of study also requires a solid financial basis in order to be able to pay rent, living costs and tuition fees. There are various financing options, such as educational loans or scholarship programmes. We have summarised all the financing options for you here.
