Course content UX & Data-Driven Design

Learn everything from prototyping to usability

Our interdisciplinary Master's programme in UX Design & Data-Driven Design optimally prepares you for a career at the intersection of AI-augmented design, technology and data intelligence. You will learn to design, develop and evaluate immersive digital, user-centred systems based on data-driven insights. In doing so, you will combine scientific research, creative design and strategic project management

Our UX Design programme is divided into three core areas:

  • Human-centred and AI-augmented, data-driven design
  • Technology, innovation and immersive digital experiences
  • Management, ethics and strategic implementation of data intelligence and AI systems

The combination of these three areas of focus promotes holistic competence in which creative, analytical and strategic skills interact optimally.

After completing your UX studies, you will have mastered the entire user experience process – from requirements analysis and user research to prototyping, AI-augmented and immersive experience design, usability testing, and data-intelligence-driven evaluation as well as the strategic development of digital systems. You will apply both agile and research-oriented methods and integrate insights from human-computer interaction research, data analytics and AI-supported methods into your design decisions.

In addition, you will have expertise in the following areas:

  • Project and product management
  • Data visualisation and communication
  • Innovation management
  • Critical reflection on ethical, social and sustainability-related aspects of digital design
  • Leadership of interdisciplinary teams
  • Planning and implementation of complex projects involving stakeholders and user groups
  • Integration of new technologies – evaluation and use of artificial intelligence, generative models, multimodal interaction systems and immersive technologies (AR/VR)

Overall, you will be empowered to design digital transformation processes in an analytical, creative and human-centred manner. You will be able to develop scientifically sound, technologically innovative and socially responsible solutions that meet the needs of users as well as the strategic goals of organisations.
