Tips for finding a flat

Here are a few tips:

  • Please allow plenty of time (around 2–3 months) to find accommodation.
  • We recommend choosing a hotel, hostel or other short-term accommodation (e.g. for a few months) for the initial period, if necessary.

Important information:

  • As our university is not a member of the ‘Studentenwerk’, you cannot apply for places in their halls of residence.
  • Our university provides support with finding accommodation but does not arrange specific offers.

Registering your address

You must register with the relevant registration office in Munich within 14 days of moving in. It is therefore advisable to book an appointment online whilst you are still looking for accommodation, as these are often fully booked several weeks in advance.
