Water heroes (Wasserhelden) – sustainability for kids

Brief description

The “Water heroes - sustainability for kids” project teaches children about the sustainable and conscious use of water as a resource. Preschool and primary school classes from Heidelberg and the surrounding area are invited to take part in a variety of water projects that combine nature experiences, environmental education and creativity.

Together with the team from SRH University Campus Heidelberg, the children explore regional streams, examine their water quality and learn about the importance of clean water for people and nature. The project focuses on active, research-based learning on site to promote environmental awareness in an age-appropriate way.

In the further course of the project, the children deepen their impressions in creative art projects and bring the topic of water into their own everyday lives. Supported by digital materials and suggestions for families at home. In this way, they are empowered as actors of the future to take responsibility for the environment and resources.
