I have been a member of the German national rugby team since 2014, which allows me to combine my work as a physiotherapist and researcher with many years’ experience in competitive and team sports.
In 2019, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy at SRH University Heidelberg. I then worked in a practice specialising in orthopaedics and rehabilitation, including rehabilitation following ACL injuries. At the same time, I provided physiotherapy support at various competitive and elite sporting events, as well as for club and national teams in women’s, men’s and youth rugby. These included, amongst others, the 2019 European Rugby Championship in France and the 2019 Tug-of-War World Championships in Ireland.
From 2023 to 2024, I completed my Master’s degree in Global Health at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland. Following this, I led a project funded by the Irish Department of Justice to support migrant women at the NGO AkiDwA in Dublin. At the same time, I worked as a research assistant at Trinity College Dublin from January 2025 to April 2026. After returning to Germany, I worked as a physiotherapist again until June 2026. From January to April 2026, I also worked as a research assistant in the field of Global Child Health at the University of Heidelberg.
Today, I combine my experience in physiotherapy, competitive and recreational sport, and global health as an academic staff member at SRH University, Campus Heidelberg and within the ‘Gesunde Hochschule’ project.
