As we walk through the next, er, door, we immediately feel a few years younger: Melissa, Sebastian and Dan have created Nextx, a career guidance app aimed at school leavers. Here, students and trainees become influencers: "Their unembellished look over the shoulder allows companies to create an authentic impression of what it's like to work for them," Sebastian tells us. Paired with gaming elements, applying becomes an experience. Many interns and students from the SRH family also dock at Next, including a working student from the Big Data and Business Analytics degree programme. "The Gründer-Institut accompanies us through all the ups and downs and gives us a safety net," reports Sebastian. The founders failed in their first EXIST application, but thanks to the support of the GI, they received the coveted funding approval in their second attempt.
