By getting involved in society in a variety of ways, people acknowledge their social responsibility. By awarding the SRH scholarship for exceptional social commitment, SRH University demonstrates its appreciation for your engagement, making it easier for them to finance their studies.

SRH Scholarships for exceptional social commitment

The scholarship can be awarded to prospective students or students who make an important contribution to our society through their social commitment.

If you would like to apply for the scholarship, you should be enrolled or have submitted a regular application for a degree programme at SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg (all locations). You should also fulfil the university admission requirements and admission criteria for this degree programme. 

Please submit the following documents for the application:

  • Letter of motivation for the scholarship
  • ONE letter of recommendation from a school teacher, a university lecturer, or a professor from the respective field of study
  • Current curriculum vitae (CV)
  • If applicable, a school-leaving certificate (for first-year students with less than 30 ECTS earned at SRH)
  • If applicable, a current overview of grades from your previous studies
  • If applicable, certificate of a first university degree
  • Certificate of enrolment or signed study contract for applicants from EEA countries* or Letter of Acceptance for applicants from non-EEA countries**
  • Proof of community or social commitment OR 1-3 page project description including duration and frequency of the commitment
  • If applicable, proof of special qualifications for the studies (e.g. proof of social engagement, special skills, language certificates, awards, experience abroad, certificates of internships relevant to the studies, certificates of vocational training, etc.).
  • If applicable, reasons that make it difficult or pose special challenges for your studies, e.g. financial or family difficulties, disabilities, first-time academic, etc.

*For applicants from EEA countries: Please note that you must upload the signed study contract and the enrollment fee must be paid before the scholarship committee meeting (mid-September for the winter semester). 

**For applicants from non-EEA countries: You can apply with the Letter of Acceptance. However, your fees must be paid before the scholarship committee meets and decides on the allocation of the scholarship

The application period for the winter semester 2026/2027 begins on Monday, 1 June 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and ends on Tuesday, 30 June 2026 at 11:59 p.m. You can apply via the Scholarship application portal. This is an external portal, and you will need to create an account.

When submitting your application, please note that only complete applications submitted by the deadline will be considered for the scholarship.

The scholarship is a full scholarship. This means for you: You do not have to pay tuition fees from the beginning of the funding period and until the remaining standard period of study.
