As a university with its roots in vocational rehabilitation, we are particularly committed to ensuring that students with physical or mental disabilities can participate fully in their studies on an equal footing. The SRH Scholarship for Students with Disabilities helps with the costs.

SRH Scholarships for Students with Disabilities

This scholarship can be awarded to prospective students and students with physical or mental disabilities or health restrictions.

If you would like to apply for the scholarship, you should fulfil the following admission requirements:

  • Enrolment or regular application for a degree programme at SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg (all locations) as well as fulfilment of the university admission requirements and admission criteria for this degree programme
  • Study restrictions due to illness or disability
  • Social commitment desirable

Please submit the following documents for the application:

  • Letter of motivation for the scholarship
  • ONE letter of recommendation from a school teacher, a university lecturer, or a professor from the respective field of study
  • Current curriculum vitae (CV)
  • If applicable, a school-leaving certificate (for first-year students with less than 30 ECTS earned at SRH)
  • If applicable, a current overview of grades from your previous studies
  • If applicable, certificate of a first university degree
  • Certificate of enrolment or signed study contract for applicants from EEA countries* or Letter of Acceptance for applicants from non-EEA countries**
  • Proof of the scholarship category (e.g. severely disabled person's pass, medical certificates, etc.)
  • If applicable, proof of special qualifications for the course of study (e.g., evidence of civic or social commitment, special skills, language certificates, awards, stays abroad, certificates of relevant internships, certificates of vocational training, etc.)
  • If applicable, reasons that have made your previous educational history more difficult or hindering, e.g. Financial or family difficulties, disability, first-time academic, etc.

*For applicants from EEA countries: Please note that you must upload the signed study contract and the enrollment fee must be paid before the scholarship committee meeting (mid-September for the winter semester). 

**For applicants from non-EEA countries: You can apply with the Letter of Acceptance. However, your fees must be paid before the scholarship committee meets and decides on the allocation of the scholarship

The application period for the winter semester 2026/2027 begins on Monday, 1 June 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and ends on Tuesday, 30 June 2026 at 11:59 p.m. You can apply via the Scholarship application portal. This is an external portal, and you will need to create an account.

When submitting your application materials, please note that only complete applications submitted by the deadline will be considered for the scholarship.

The scholarship is a full scholarship. This means for you: You do not have to pay tuition fees since the beginning of the funding period until the standard period of study.

How to apply for a Scholarship

Please submit your application via our application portal. This will be activated for submissions for the 2026 winter semester on June 1, 8 a.m. and will close on June 30, 23:59 p.m.

When submitting your application documents, please note that only complete applications submitted in due time and in the correct form can be considered for the award of a scholarship.
