STIBET - I Scholarships for international students

What is STIBET - I ?

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) uses funds from the Federal Foreign Office (AA) to support the combined scholarship and support programme STIBET - I for general and subject-related support and assistance as well as the creation of hospitable and performance-enhancing conditions at universities for international students.

Part of this programme are the STIBET - I scholarships for international students only. If you are a full-time Bachelor's or Master's student at SRH University and fulfil the requirements listed below, you can apply.

There are 3 types of scholarships:

  1. Graduation scholarship
  2. Scholarships for special commitment (engagement scholarship)
  3. Scholarships for more equal opportunities for scholarship holders with special challenges during their studies (e.g. special care situations for children or relatives in need of care, disability, refugee background)

There is no legal entitlement to a STIBET - I scholarship.

Information on the process, application and deadlines

The scholarships are advertised every year. Application is possible in 2025 from 2 April - 31 May (deadline).

  1. You can only apply for a graduation scholarship during the last 12 months of your studies at SRH University. The requirements for this scholarship are outstanding academic performance and an expected graduation within a maximum of 12 months, i.e. by 1 June of the following year at the latest.
  2. You can only apply for a scholarship for special commitment after at least 1 year of study at SRH University Heidelberg. For this scholarship, special commitment in the international context of SRH University is required, e.g. by supporting fellow students, at events or social commitment inside and outside SRH University.
  3. You can apply for a scholarship for more equal opportunities at any time as an enrolled student. In your letter of motivation, please list in detail what your "special challenges in your studies" are (e.g. special care situations for children or relatives in need of care, disability, refugee background).
  4. Only students who are studying in Germany may apply.

The scholarship is expected to be up to EUR 750 per month for 3 - 4 months.

Applications must be submitted exclusively via our scholarship portal. Please attach the following documents to your application (as an upload):

  1. Curriculum vitae
  2. Current transcript of records (not older than 1 March of the year)
  3. Copy of identity card with residence permit
