Heidelberg, 3 December 2025 – SAP and SRH University have agreed on a far-reaching cooperation in the field of education to jointly train the next generation of specialists and managers for the digital transformation. The aim is to counteract the global shortage of skilled workers and provide young people with practical SAP skills.
SAP is active in over 180 countries worldwide. ‘This partnership is an important step toward counteracting the global shortage of skilled workers in the SAP ecosystem. Together with SRH University, we are creating practical educational formats that optimally prepare young talent for the demands of the digital economy and open up excellent career prospects for them,’ explains Andre Bechtold, President SAP Industries & Experiences.
‘Education is the key to the future – and to mastering the digital transformation. With SAP as our partner, we are creating a strong foundation for specifically promoting young talent and teaching them practical skills for a globally networked working world,’ says Prof. Dr Christof Hettich, CEO of SRH.
SAP counts more than 400,000 companies among its customers. 25,000 partners carry out around 90 percent of SAP customer implementations. With over 100,000 employees worldwide, SAP is a key player in the digital economy.
The first study groups in computer science began at the SRH campuses in Heidelberg, Stuttgart and Munich in the 2025/26 winter semester. Plans are in place to extend the programme to other fields of study, such as business administration and supply chain management. Students acquire specific technical and methodological skills in areas such as SAP Business Technology Platform, Enterprise Resource Planning and Data Analytics – with the opportunity to obtain relevant certifications through the free SAP Learning Hub, student edition.
In the coming semesters, the integration of SAP skills will be gradually expanded to some of the more than 120 degree programmes at the SRH campuses in Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig and other cities. In addition, SAP and SRH University are jointly developing new bachelor's and master's programmes that are closely aligned with the needs of the SAP ecosystem. These are aimed at both German and international students.
Promoting talent and international perspectives
In future, training will take place even closer to SAP locations. SAP and SRH plan to involve the SAP Experience Centres in Berlin, Munich and Walldorf, as well as the SAP Learning Centre in Walldorf, more closely in teaching. In addition, SRH aims to expand its international presence and establish a location in India. In this context, a collaboration with SAP in Bangalore is being explored.
‘This partnership is a milestone for practical higher education in Germany and beyond,’ adds Dr Thorsten Bagschik, Managing Director of SRH University. ‘We combine academic excellence with industrial relevance – and thus create real prospects for the future.’
