Here’s what it’s all about:

  • SRH professors receive publication award for specialist book on health psychology
  • International research project brings together contributions from several countries
  • Students acted as co-authors and gained research experience

At the SRH University’s New Year’s reception in Heidelberg, the university awarded the publication prize in the ‘International Research Experience’ category (HAW.International) to the academic book *Health Psychology: Applications in Clinical and Sports Contexts* (Nomos Verlag). The three SRH professors, Maren Weiss, Philipp Stang and Martin Köllner, edited the anthology and accepted the award in person.

The project originated from a symposium at the SRH Campus Fürth. This led to an international collaboration with researchers from several countries, including Germany, Austria and Turkey. The aim of the book is to bring together current developments in health psychology from an international perspective.

In an increasingly complex and stressful world, the issue of mental health is becoming ever more important.
Co-editor Martin G. Köllner

In terms of content, this anthology brings together three key areas of health psychology: prevention, sports psychology and clinical psychology. The articles demonstrate how the latest research findings can be directly applied in practice and teaching.

The project is particularly exciting for students: they are not only the book’s target audience, but also played an active role in its creation. Several SRH students contributed as co-authors to individual chapters, thereby gaining practical international research experience.
