In the Master's programme in Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, you will acquire in-depth knowledge and an understanding of the entire data science process. You will learn how to apply mathematical, statistical, analytical and machine learning/deep learning techniques to gain insights from large and often unstructured data sets. You will also acquire technical expertise, analytical skills, and business acumen needed to drive innovation in AI, data science, and big data analytics. 

With a strong industry focus, the program blends machine learning, data engineering, natural language processing, generative AI, cloud computing, and ethical AI principles with real-world applications across diverse domains.

Application-oriented learning

Our study programme combines sound methodological training with consistently practice- and application-oriented teaching. At all locations, students complete the same core modules, follow identical academic standards and graduate with the same accredited master's degree.
While the curriculum remains uniform, selected project phases draw on regional innovation ecosystems and industry-specific networks.

Heidelberg offers the most comprehensive data science environment within the study programme. It combines in-depth methodological expertise with advanced AI system development, generative AI and interdisciplinary fields of application. In addition to the joint core modules, students benefit from extended courses such as Advanced Python for Data Science, AI Vision, Media Analytics & AI-Driven Content Systems, Generative AI Applications and Collaborative Industry Projects.

In these projects, interdisciplinary teams work directly with industry and innovation partners on complex, real-world AI challenges – from data engineering and model development to validation and strategic implementation. Many projects develop into master's theses, research collaborations or innovation prototypes. This ecosystem offers the strongest integration of technical depth, systemic thinking, research orientation and industrial collaboration within the study programme.

Hamburg focuses on applications in logistics, supply chain systems and sustainability-oriented optimisation. Key modules include Logistics & Transportation Analytics, Performance & Engagement Analytics and application-oriented project formats in real industrial data environments. Students work on forecasting models, mobility systems, network optimisation and operational decision support in large-scale industrial contexts.

Fürth focuses on data-driven corporate strategy and performance management. Modules such as Inventory Analytics, Retail & E-Commerce Analytics, and Social Media Analytics & Sentiment Analysis teach practical skills in KPI systems, consumer behaviour modelling, and business process optimisation. The focus is on translating analytical findings into measurable economic value and strategic decision-making processes.

Munich integrates AI methods into fields of application in the healthcare industry and life sciences. Students take modules such as Biomedical Image Analysis, Healthcare Analytics and domain-specific AI applications with a focus on predictive modelling and intelligent decision support systems. The focus is on the use of robust AI methods in high-impact, data-intensive scientific and medical environments.

These examples serve as practical guidance along the respective regional industry and innovation networks. They do not represent independent programme structures or academic differences. The curriculum, examination standards and the degree awarded are identical at all locations.

Embedded within Heidelberg’s comprehensive and innovation-driven environment, this practice-oriented training equips students with agile project management skills essential for advanced AI system development and collaborative industry projects. Students learn to manage complex, data-intensive initiatives using structured sprint planning, iterative workflows, and stakeholder-focused communication — bridging technical depth with professional execution in real-world AI environments.

The certificate “SAS Certified Specialist: Visual Business Analyst” strengthens our practice-oriented and industry-integrated learning approach. Students gain hands-on expertise in advanced data visualization, interactive dashboard design, and analytical reporting using SAS Viya. This certification enhances the ability to translate complex analytical results into strategic decision support — a key competence for data professionals operating at the intersection of technology, business, and AI-driven innovation.

 

The NVIDIA Institute Deep Learning Training, integrated into our Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence programme, provides a hands-on introduction to neural networks, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and modern AI model development. Students gain practical experience in designing, training, and evaluating deep learning systems, building a strong foundation for advanced AI applications. As a state-recognised private university, SRH University is financed by tuition fees. The fees go towards equipping our campuses, providing services for our students, and ensuring quality assurance. This way, we ensure you receive the best possible education under optimal study conditions.

Tuition fees Hamburg

  • Citizenship | EU/EEA, including Western Balkans, Switzerland and Ukraine: €830 / month
  • Citizenship | non-EU/EEA: €5,950 / semester

Tuition fees Heidelberg

  • Citizenship | EU/EEA, including Western Balkans, Switzerland and Ukraine: €850 / month
  • Citizenship | non-EU/EEA: €6,750 / semester

Tuition fees Munich

The monthly/semester tuition fees remain the same for the entire duration of the study programme. A one-off enrolment fee of €750 (EU/EEA) or €1000 (non-EU/EEA) is to be paid once.

Except for any placement, aptitude or equivalency tests, no separate examination fees or similar are charged, not even for repeat examinations. So, you'll have maximum cost transparency during your studies.

Goal-oriented studies require good organisational skills and solid financial planning on how to pay rent, living costs, and tuition fees. Various financing options, such as educational loans or scholarship programmes, are available for students.
