Technically & creatively to success!
Since 2010, we have been offering the modern, practice-oriented bachelor's degree programme "Virtual Reality & Game Development", which focuses on the development and design of virtual worlds.

State-of-the-art technologies at the cutting edge
In the programme, you will explore a wide range of exciting subjects that prepare you for the development of modern technologies and game development. You begin with academic and scientific working methods and fundamentals of computer science, followed by hands-on project work.
As your studies progress, you deepen your knowledge in programming, software engineering and mixed reality applications. You will also work with virtual worlds, game design and core computer science topics, and further develop your skills in programming, computer graphics and interaction design.
Later on, you can choose between 3D modelling, mobile AR and topics such as entrepreneurship. The programme also includes an internship, as well as subjects such as artificial intelligence and edutainment, before you spend the final semesters working on your capstone project and Bachelor’s thesis.

News from the VR & Game Development degree programme
In 2007, SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg was one of the first universities in Germany to offer a "Game Development" degree programme. This was followed in 2010 by "Virtual Reality", the first degree programme in Germany to deal explicitly with virtual reality as a mass and entertainment medium. These years of experience, combined with the innovative CORE study model, form the foundation for the solid and practice-oriented education of our students.
Yves Masullo and Robin Mächtel show just how successful our graduates can be with their game "Orbital Bullet", which won the most important prize for games in Germany - the German Computer Game Award, in the "Prototype" category for young talent (endowed with € 15,000). Shortly afterwards, the game received another award at the GermanDevDays (endowed with €5,000).
